About

Brussels, 2022.

In the rain, between two cobblestones, something is fermenting. No explosion. No fanfare. Just an idea overflowing into a post-COVID world.

La Flaque (The Puddle in Shakespeare’s language) is not a predetermined path. It is a free, unpredictable mass that overflows, trickles, and refuses to let Brussels dry up.

At level 1, the project began as a gypsy operation. No headquarters, no fixed tanks. We brewed wherever we could, with whatever we had.  The head full of ideas, an obsession with quality, and a touch of madness. Each brew was an adventure, each beer a signature.

Then we had to move on to lvl 2…

Today, La Flaque is one of the five breweries that are members of COHOP, the first cooperative of Brussels microbreweries. A shared space, shared equipment, shared brains. We pool our resources to remain independent. We unite to remain local. Implacable logic, lasting determination.

At COHOP, we share tanks without diluting ideas. We produce together, ultra-locally, in a city that loves nothing more than substance and a little bite.

La Flaque is no longer an accident.

It’s a choice.
